<cite>Flight of the Conchords</cite> Attracts Weirdos, Wired Winners

From impressed press reviews to Wired.com's giveaway, the Flight of the Conchords' second season is off to a sensational start. Now all that's left to do is crown a winner of our swag contest, and the rest is smooth sailing.

Earlier this month, we offered a prize pack to any clever soul that could convince us that he or she is the freaky Kiwi electronic folk duo's second-biggest fan. (Mel comes first, my friends.) Nearly a hundred enthusiastic, and hilarious, readers responded, making our job that much harder. But a winner has indeed been chosen, and that winner is ...

Hold on, this just in! I have been informed we have a tie, which means that either Flight of the Conchords' second-best fan is actually two people, or more simply, that Wired.com has two prize packs to give away. In any case, the lucky groupies and their winning comments are:

Stephen Roy: I'm the 2nd best fan, because I posted the first comment in the section, and several other reasons... mainly because I'm awesome. My day... wake up... watch flight of the conchords while eating musely. I usually go to the 7/11 from a quarter past six till a quarter till seven... I try and match my meals to what flight of the conchords are eating in the dvds. If I want to eat, I have to pop in a dvd a find a scene where they are making food. I'm on my 2nd copy of the DVDs as I wore out the first ones. I contantly search the web for new flight of the conchords material... I think I've gone through all 3,640,000 web pages that have the words "flight of the conchords" from a google search. I'm working on the yahoo search right now. I really need the DVD collection, as I have wasted all of my money on musely, and can't afford my 3rd copy of the dvd set. My second one is JUST about to be worn out. If you have any compassion at all, I can't get away without watching FOTC (Flight of the Conchords for all you non-abbreviation-getting mother f'ers) for a day. If I don't get that copy, I don't know what I would do with my life.

Andrea: 1) I loved them as a band before the show, but when the show began, I could not watch it because I didn't have HBO. So I patiently and painstakingly waited months and months, with only obscure Youtube clips to tide me over until the DVD release. My love for the 'Chords increased tenfold upon seeing the show in its entirety. And I've gotten many, many friends to love it too.
2) I could recite almost any song if you asked me. Everything from "Hiphopopotamus" to "Bret You Got It Going On." I'd even translate "Foux Du Fa Fa" for you.
3) I have Mel's hairdo.
4) If you don't pick me, I'll have to maybe be a prostitute, just to pay for my lessons (I'm learning the flute).

Our apologies to those who didn't score the swag, but we just couldn't let Stephen break down or Andrea take up hooking. Since there were so many brilliant comments, picking winners for this giveaway was harder than we thought. So let us close with a cliche: You are all winners. We wish it was "Business Time" for all of you.
