My brother Scott lives in Henderson and I visit him now and then. He used to be in the real estate business there. This lofts project has fascinated both of us. As you might imagine, there are many stalled and abandoned building projects around town. There is an opportunity – I can almost see the buses full of tourists pulling up to visit the squelettes for tours and performances from the colorful inhabitants.
More seriously, and sadly, the tourist industry people would have to lean pretty hard on the building code people for this to become real. Las Vegas may not be desperate enough to let this happen – yet.
