*This design-fiction BMW video is two years old, but it's so cute: it's almost exactly what Tom Caudell was talking about way back in 1992, when he first made up the term "augmented reality." Caudell was trying to help Boeing mechanics snake cables through aircraft. And let's not forget his co-author David W. Mizell, okay? I hate it when people forget co-authors.
*Look at this video, it's got color-coding, an annoying little Microsoft Clippy AI assistant on board, it's got head-mounted spex, everything. It's super-1992, like finding some long buried Virtual Reality blotter-acid that you forgot about in the back of the freezer.
*It's not nothing happened in the Augmented Reality world, during that long
interregnum: there was a ton of hard work. "Sudden revival"? "Overnight success?" Yeah, sure, pal!
