Oh, I'm sorry, did you think Nintendo was lowering prices this holiday? Goodness, no. It's raising them.
Nintendo said Monday that Wii Fit Plus will be released on October 4 for $100, and will replace the Wii Fit bundle currently available at retail. That means the point of entry for the Wii Balance Board, which is not sold separately, will go from $90 to $100.
If you already own Wii Fit, and millions of you do, the upgraded version, which features workout routines in the vein of EA Sports Active, will only cost you $20 for the standalone disc.
In other Nintendo news, the company said it will release a black-colored Wiimote bundled with a black Wii MotionPlus this holiday season, but did not announce a price or release date for the bundle. A black Nunchuk will be available separately. Yes, Japan got a black Wii console, too, but you will just have to pretend.
Finally, Nintendo said the new colors of Nintendo DSi -- white and pink -- will be available September 13.
