Instrumental metallurgist Pelican is back on the prowl with its fourth full-length What We All Come To Need, out October 27.
But what better way is there to celebrate the Chicago quartet’s tasty riffage than by wolfing down a 10-oz. Kobe beef patty with pan-seared scallops and lardons in a garlic white wine sauce on top of a parmesan crisp, with a side of white wine garlic aioli?
Hungry metalheads in the Windy City can chomp on Pelican’s official burger, at right, during an October 16 album-listening party at Kuma’s Corner, the famed eatery that has named sumptuous sandwiches after similarly noisy bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Melvins, Motorhead and even our favorite, Goblin Cock.
The gorging commences right after the band’s free in-store performance at Reckless Records, which inaugurates Pelican’s national tour beginning October 20. While you’re salivating, take a listen to What We All Come To Need‘s sludge-filled “Strung Up From the Sky” and let us know what you think.
