*I'd like to see Nicole Stott do a book about her space station experiences. She's quite a thoughtful, closely observant, well-spoken person. People who read her extensive remarks on the DWELL website seemed impressed by the gravity of Nicole's zero-gravity lifestyle up there.

Notes from Nicole Stott Post-Landing Interview

The space station just got more beautiful.
(On returning) I think the initial impression, as you move, everything seems to be moving around you. It’s not a dizzy feeling, it’s everything moving. Other than that, when they opened the hatch it smelled like fresh, clean fall air and that was really nice. My family is here and that’s really nice, they have Thanksgiving leftovers, ice cold cola with crushed ice and nice warm showers.
I think this was the perfect preparation (for my shuttle flight). I will be going back to the space station and I think that I will be totally comfortable when I go back and don’t think I will need any adaptation with that. Since I was just transported on shuttle up and down, I didn’t go through all the training the rest of the crew did, so have some work to do to get ready as a full-trained shuttle crew member but this has prepared me or a lot of it.
I started out with five other guys who went home shortly after I got there, then two more people showed up and three more, all that I knew and had trained with. As a crew we were successful. HTV stands out as the most different and new thing that went on with station and the fact that Frank, Bob and I had worked so long and hard on that tracking and robotic work and got to do it was a highlight for me.
Everything I did with hardware at KSC prepares you. I feel I have an intimate relationship with not just the people at KSC, but the hardware as well. I felt good about it from launch through landing.
I’d like to say I’m thankful to the people at JSC, KSC and all the NASA centers and the international partners around the planet. The space station program from an international standpoint has done a lot for us globally. The relationships with the crew and mission control centers shows how we can cooperate and make very good things happen.
