Low-budget action king Roger Corman is making a B movie about a sea monster for Syfy. The news about the in-development Sharktopus — you guessed it, the title beast will be half-octopus, half-shark — broke when TV director Karen O’Hara tweeted that she’d just gotten off the phone with Corman: “Spent half am [sic] hour discussing what a sharktopus should look like, how many mouths it should have and how it should kill.”
A network rep told Wired.com that the Twitter comment was accurate but did not detail when Sharktopus would make a splash on prime time.
Last month, Shout Factory announced that it would be rereleasing nearly 50 Corman-produced films on DVD beginning in April.
