"Jinbaobab’s music career started as a member of a three person punk rock group. He switched to electronic music in 2007 after convincing his mother to buy him some introductory software and equipment. He lives in a compound with the families of Changsha police officers. The name “Dormancy Oatmeal” comes from a time in Jinbaobab’s life where he didn’t leave the house much and ate oatmeal everyday."
