Augmented Reality: Parrot AR.Drone Attacks

*Obviously Parrot are drumming up some youth-demographic virality here – these pieces come across like MTV "Jackass" videos.

*Chris Anderson is upset about this, and opines that this kind of mischief might bring his beloved bits-as-atoms drone business into some disrepute.

*I get it about funny pranks and I don't really sweat them much. However. It would be child's play for some Tea Party guys to paint one of these gizmos red-white-and-blue, and use it to harass mosques. Given that Parrot is French, you could re-cast that as French red-white-and-blue going for women in burqas. Those resultant fringe-political videos would get YouTube traction aplenty.

*One can't really conjure up "drone attack" without invoking the specter of drones assassinating Moslems. That is the simply world's number one flying drone app. So even if Parrot themselves try to stick to the merely cheeky rather than the genuinely transgressive, somebody is gonna repurpose these personal, flying, video robots.

*And in a major way.

*And my guess would be sooner, rather than later.

(((This just in: a flying drone might bring you a pizza instead of attacking you:)))

(((Flying cars are hokum... but a flying pizza drone might actually save some time, money and energy over sending over some teenage kid in a pizza truck.)))
