"NEW DELHI: Income tax officials are conducting raids at residences of Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif for suspected tax evasion.
"The raids started around 7.30am simultaneously at 12 sites, including the residences of the two actresses in the western suburbs. Priyanka's home in Versova, Andheri West, was raided.
"Also raided were the homes of their secretaries, their respective office premises and other locations, the official said.
"The I-T department is investigating whether the two actresses have paid taxes proportionate to their known sources of income during the past year.
"Both Katrina and Priyanka are high ranking Bollywood actresses who work with top stars and leading film banners, besides endorsing top brands and participating in the major stage shows in India and abroad.
"The income tax department had earlier sent several notices to both actresses, seeking details of their finances but failed to get a satisfactory response. ..."

On one hand, while the IT tax officials must have been themselves shocked to see Shahid Kapoor in shorts at Priyanka's residence during the raid, (((somebody always has to toss in a voyeuristic sex angle, even if the story is about accounting))) on the other, the raid threw open some starling facts like Priyanka Chopra was reportedly seeming to have invested in properties galore! She reportedly owns 10 flats in Mumbai alone, of which 5 are at Raj Classic where she has converted three flats into one and the other two have been clubbed into another flat! (((Unsubstantiated gossip, although if all-singing-all-dancing Priyanka is really a landlady by trade, that'll be pretty interesting.)))
