FutureLabCamp is a weekend hackathon (fri-sun) taking place in NYC (or Boston?) this April.
A weekend celebrating the exchange of biologists, artists, engineers and designers. Join our lecture series and participate in a three day hackathon and camp-out at our venue. We will develop imaginative make/shift devices and prototypes interacting with biological systems to investigate the future of biotechnologies.
what?
We’re bringing together hardware hackers, artists, garage biologists, forward-thinking researchers, and other makers together for an amazingly productive weekend. It's not a conference - it is a hackathon, with an emphasis on producing useful output.
how?
When you arrive on Friday, you’ll team up with some of the other diverse participants to brainstorm and pick an idea to work on during the hackathon. Your mission: build something that explores "interfaces to garage biology." Build a hardware prototype, or create a website, or make some art, or develop a protocol in the lab. You'll have all weekend to implement your team's project, culminating on Sunday night with a lighting round of 5-minute demos from each team and a celebration. Sprinkled throughout the weekend will be interesting talks, breaks, food, and parties.
