PICNIC 2.0

It’s a brand new day for PICNIC. We are moving beyond our three-day, annual festival to establishing PICNIC as a global creativity and innovation platform with year-round activities. So stay tuned for new events, including PICNIC City Salons in other countries, PICNIC Creative Business Club activities, and other initiatives which encourage creators, innovators and entrepreneurs to co-create with professionals from business, government, higher education and the non-profit world. Watch this space.

PICNIC Creative Business Club

The Club will launch its member program with a meeting in early December to discuss the the theme of ‘socializing retail’. Corio, a Club member and one of Europe’s leading retail property companies, will share its innovation strategy to transform its properties into 'favourite meeting places'. Learn more about the Club.

Sharing is caring

PICNIC continues to add new speaker videos from our Festival in September. The latest include: Emer Beamer on using mobile games to engage the poorest people in a city, Tim Campbell on creating smart cities based on continuous learning and innovation, and Victor van der Chijs on bringing business and the creative industries closer together to stimulate the economy and boost innovation. Watch these great talks (and the others) here.

Vodafone Firestarters

PICNIC hosted two Vodafone Firestarters travelling talk shows which highlight innovation in technology, music, fashion and art. One show focused on ‘Urban Futures’, the theme of the 2011 PICNIC Festival, while the other explored technology vs. branding and the impact of smartphones on our social lives. Take a look.
