We built them, we programmed them, we set them loose for a variety of motives, but they do some unexpected and provocative things.” – Bruce Sterling, An Essay on the New Aesthetic (((Yeah, yeah, I wrote that; but tech-artists are such a lively bunch that they read critical musings like that, and then they actually create and display some tech-art. Not years later, mind you; but right away, practically in real-time. Given the grim determination of the Austerity crowd to exterminate every state-supported form of artistic expression, this net-based alternative scene might get pretty lively.)))
