–Phishers Spoof US Cyber Command
(August 28, 2012)

The US Cyber Command is reportedly being spoofed in a phishing attack.
The US Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Computer Emergency
Readiness Team (US-CERT) has warned that there are "multiple malware
campaigns impersonating multiple US government agencies." The attacks
present users with messages telling them that a US government agency has
said they are involved in criminal activity and instructs the users to
pay a fine or lose access to their computers. The users are often told
to pay the fine through prepaid money cards. This type of scheme is not
new, but this is the first time that the US Cyber Command has been
impersonated in such an attack.
