Olia Lialina's Turing-Complete User

*It's quite interesting.

*It's a utopian tract by a new-media artist, and I scarcely believe one word of it, but it's pleasant and encouraging to see it said in such a direct and lucid way. Somewhere, there's an imaginary world where technology shows up with checkboxes attached, and you're there in your small-office-home-office coding up some wry, artsy interventions, and you wrinkle your brow thoughtfully for a while, and then you're just like: "Nope! Not for me! It infringes on my Turing-Completeness as an autonomous, creative human being!" And just like that, all the nuclear warheads are gone!

*Special bonus: rapturous praise for Cory Doctorow!
