As part of its MeSync enterprise mobile program for contractors and independent sales representatives, Mitsubishi Electric and Metaio developed a maintenance assistant application using optical object recognition and tracking augmented reality technology.
In cases of regular or scheduled maintenance to a system or unit, the iPad application overlays the real-time camera view with step-by-step directions on the corresponding real world elements.
This kind of experience is the future of real-world interaction. No more product or instruction manuals- everything would be at your fingertips, accessible right from your mobile device.
