Author, futurist, and design visionary Bruce Sterling delivers the keynote
lecture of the Ransom Center's tenth biennial Flair Symposium, "Visions of
the Future," November 1, 2012, in Jessen Auditorium. Best known for his
science fiction novels and his work on the Mirrorshades anthology, which
helped define the cyberpunk genre, Sterling also writes about and teaches
design. His archive resides at the Ransom Center.
The 2012 Flair Symposium continued over the following two days, bringing
together historians, architects, industrial designers, and visionaries in
the fields of science fiction, film, theater, and future studies to
discuss how the future has been imagined across their respective
disciplines.
