*You know what's even more farfetched and cliquish than geoengineering? "Justice."
*The way this essay opens is pretty good in the irony sweepstakes, but it would be even more amusing to portray a bunch of Supreme Court Justices hanging around behind the bench personally being all "just" to one another. I mean genuine justice just in the power relations among those nine professionally trained lawyers, not "justice" for 300 million people in a nation they allegedly serve.
*It's pretty brave to realize that Nature ended some time ago, and that we now occupy the Anthropocene, but justice ends too. Where's the Roman Empire's justice, or the justice of the Austro-Hungarian Empire? It's gone, there isn't any. Justice is no more attainable than climate control. That's why the right blatantly lies about a danger that they know will harm them gravely; yes, they sacrificed the sky, but at least they didn't have to put up with any leftist utopianizing about justice, an insubstantial substance they consider more deadly than carbon monoxide.

*Just for the record, there isn't going to be any genuine geo-engineering. Genocide is a hundred times cheaper, faster and easier than geo-engineering superschemes. The necessary tools are at hand already, and no society with half its species rendered extinct in ongoing unnatural catastrophe is gonna make any big fuss about our own.
