*Well whaddya know. Grimes' unique fashion stylings will henceforth be validated.
*Y'know what's happening here? It's "Street New-Aesthetic." Just watch (if you can bear it) as 22-year-olds haul out every digital-imaging riff in the New Aesthetic tumblr that is most objectionable and in-your-face. Not that they will directly appropriate material from that Tumblr in particular; no, it's just that viral Tumblr culture and micro-scale garment production and distribution are heading that way already.
*You can't really be a Tumblr maven and also become a standard couture house, any more than you can be a Tumblr maven and become a national publisher of glossy coffee-table photography books. So, you'll just have to dress-to-disrupt because, well, that's what's already all around.
*It won't be pretty, but well, the bearded hipster guys in the lumberjack shirts and the burlap have pretty much had their day.

This weekly column aims to bring you the best of everything that comes through our dashboards and beyond in digestible weekly portions, as we scour the URL world for hints at 2018 catwalk trends and the collisions between fashion and technology that might shape future fashion styles...."
