"Short Film," the Kalki Koechlin Kickstarter

*Really? Wow.

*I wish Kickstarter projects weren't so hung up on national currencies. Funding stuff in British pounds with a credit card is kind of a pain.

"A short film about the tragic consequences of an all too typical spat between a couple - with a very dark twist at the end.

"We are raising funds to make a 10 minute short film written and directed by Ahmed Roy and starring famous actress Kalki Koechlin. (((Well, she's plenty famous here on my blog.))) The funds will help go towards the cast and crew's daily meals, transportation, equipment and the locations we will shoot in.

"There will be an elaborate car crash scene and a police/ambulance presence will also be featured in the film. This will take up a significant chunk from the total budget.

"The locations will include an apartment, a hospital and a main street.

"To be working with such a talented actress of such a high demand is a onetime opportunity for us and so we will strive to live up to her and you're expectations in executing this project. The crew is a very determined and competent team and so the money will be in safe hands.

"Please help us to bring this project to life by pledging as much as you can. We hope that you will play a part in helping our dreams come true and we hope to inspire people to do the same.

"THE STORY

"Jealousy is a phenomena that no society has ever dealt with successfully. And, in that sense it is an eternal problem.

"Our film looks at two of the most enduring characteristics of jealousy - namely, the impulse to 'just have a bit of fun' which is often followed by a partner's impulse to over react.

"Given that we are all social creatures that need the stimulation of others, our film looks at the often tragic consequences of an all too typical jealous spat between a couple - where the viewer is left undecided as to how things could have been handled differently.

"Sadly, it is a story to which just about everyone will relate - as it seems to be a part of our human condition."

*There's the Kalkster among some of her Bollywood movie-star peers. She looks amazing.
