__Atomic Ritual__ A rocker in the tip means [these skis](http://www.evo.com/skis/atomic-ritual.aspx) float when it gets deep, but traditional camber underfoot ensures they’re still fun when you find yourself in a field of bumps. $700

__Dynafit Radical CR__ If you’re interested in switching from traditional downhill gear to an AT setup, [this is your boot](http://www.dynafit.com/us/radical-man-cr.html). With four buckles and a power strap, it’s plenty stiff so you won’t feel like you’ve lost any downhill performance. Sixty-degrees of cuff rotation in walk mode also means they’re great for moving uphill. $550

__Fischer Transalp Vacuum TS Lite__ For several years now, Fischer has offered traditional downhill Vacuum Fit ski boots that can be thermo molded to fit your feet. The [Transalp Vacuum TS Lite](http://www.backcountry.com/fischer-transalp-vacuum-ts-lite-alpine-touring-boot) is their first backcountry boot that offers the same kind of custom fit. No ski boot is going to be as comfy as your regular shoes, but these are as close as it gets. $850

__Fits Ski socks__ [Fits](http://fitssock.com/products/cat-skinordic.html) are easily one of the most comfortable ski socks on the market. Made from ultra-fine merino, they conform to your leg but don’t hug you so tight that you want to tear them off at the end of the day. Extra cushioning at the front of the sock makes sure you shins don’t get rubbed raw your in your boots, and deep heel cups prevent blisters. $20-$25

__G3 Ion Binding__ The [G3 Ion](http://us-warehouse.genuineguidegear.com/collections/bindings/products/ion) is a favorite AT binding because it strikes a nice balance between weight and power. You get a light setup (1 pound, 4.6 ounces per-binding) that travels well up hill but still allows you to charge hard coming down. $530

__Giro Onset Goggles__ [These goggles](http://www.giro.com/us_en/snow/mens/goggles/compass.html) don’t have a built-in camera, and the lenses aren’t swappable. But that’s fine because it means you’ll spend less time futzing and more time enjoying the view. What Giro did include is a high quality Zeiss spherical lens that’s as sharp as they come. $150

__Gordini Stash Lite Touch Glove__ Regular gloves don’t cut it when you’re out hiking for powder. They’re too warm and your hands end up like prunes. [The Stash Lite Touch Glove](http://gordini.com/gloves-mittens/stash-lite-touch-glove/) is a much better lightweight solution. With a thin layer of silk insulation, they’ll make sure you can always feel your digits, but won’t overheat when you’re breaking a sweat. $35

__K2 Route helmet__ The [K2 Route](http://k2skis.com/helmets/route) is the lightest ski helmet on the market (0.7 pounds), but is still certified to keep your brain safe. For those who hate helmets, but know it’s probably best to still wear one, this is what you want because it won’t weigh down or make your feel claustrophobic. $150

__La Sportiva Vapor Nano__ [These skis](http://www.sportiva.com/products/ski/skis/vapor-nano) are silly light—so light (1,200 grams each) that if you attached a couple helium balloons to them it feels like they’d float away. This makes them ideal for finding fresh powder out of bounds. $1,200

__Marker Kingpin 13 Binding__ This year all the talk has been about [Marker’s new Kingpin](http://marker.de/kingpin/) bindings, which combine the best of the downhill and AT worlds. Up front there’s a beefed up pintech toe piece for smooth uphill travel. More importantly, the binding has an alpine-like heal piece that increases power transmission from your boot to the ski. $650

__Patagonia PowSlayer Bibs__ Bibs are the way to go because who wants snow down their pants? Plus, [these bibs](http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/mens-powslayer-bibs-for-skiing-and-snowboarding?p=30322-0) are made with Gore-Tex Pro, which means they’re waterproof and breathable, but also as durable as it gets. As icing, Patagonia did a nice job of designing the pants so that they stay out of your way if you’re skinning up a mountain or skiing down. $600

__Pieps DSP Pro Avalanche Beacon__ If you head into the backcountry, you need an avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe. Pieps' top offering is the [DSP Pro](http://www.pieps.com/en/product/pieps-dsp-pro). It’s the best choice because it has a large 60 meter range, a long battery life, and several features that help create an efficient search if there are multiple burials. $375

__Scarpa F1 Evo__ Pair [these boots](http://www.scarpa.com/f1-evo) with the Vapor Nanos from La Sportiva and you have an ultra-light touring setup that’s still stiff enough to handle steep, challenging terrain. The F1 Evo also includes a new feature where the boot is automatically in walk mode if your pintech binding is in walk mode. $700

__QOR Baselayer Half Zip with Polartec Power Wool__ Wool or synthetic? That’s the question we’ve long asked when deciding on base layers. Not anymore. Polartec just released [Power Wool fabric](http://www.qorkit.com/qor-baselayer-half-zip-d64ab5.html), which combines both and solves our problems. The product has a hybrid, plated construction, with a layer of soft Merino wool against your skin that provides warmth and pulls moisture out. $98

__Swix Sonic R1 Full Carbon poles__Like all high-end carbon sports products, [the R1s](http://www.backcountry.com/swix-sonic-r1-full-carbon-ski-pole) are feathery light (414 grams/pair for the 130cm version) so they won’t weigh you down when you’re slogging through knee-deep snow on your way up a mountain. They also won’t break when you're slamming through a field of Volkswagen-sized moguls. $250

__Völkl V-Werks BMT 109__ The [Völkl V-Werks BMT 109s](http://www.volkl.com/skis/v-werks/v-werks/v-werks-bmt-109.html) are a full carbon ski with a lightweight wood core so they’re as good as it gets for big days in variable backcountry terrain. If conditions are too dangerous to be out of bounds, don’t worry. They’re also plenty of fun on groomers too. $1,275

__Voormi AN/FO Jacket__ Voormi chose to use wool as the outer layer on [this three-layer waterproof jacket](http://voormi.com/products/the-an-fo-project) because the wool actively pulls your body moisture out, making the jacket even more breathable. You haven’t seen wool as an outer layer before because of durability issues, but Voormi was able to pull it off thanks to a new blended synthetic/wool textile technology. $550
