Gallery: Press Play: 10 E3 Trailers You Don't Want to Miss
Photograph: Microsoft01Sunset Overdrive
*__Sunset Overdrive__* Insomniac Games, studios behind the *Resistance* and *Ratchet & Clank* franchises, is coming to a Microsoft console for the first time with a cartoonish co-op shooter that looks to be equal parts *Team Fortress 2*, *Gotham City Impostors*, and *Dead Rising*.
02Killer Instinct
*__Killer Instinct__* The original combo breaker is back! The beloved Super Nintendo-era fighting game was announced by Rare and Double Helix as an Xbox One exclusive.
03Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
*__Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain__* Legendary director Hideo Kojima has at least one more stealth-based action title in him, clearly. This time around, Kiefer Sutherland voices laconic creeper Solid Snake, and developers promise open-world play and more vehicular travel.
04Mirror's Edge 2
*__Mirror's Edge 2__* There wouldn't be a Temple Run without the original Mirror's Edge, a flawed but promising parkour-based action game. The sequel announcement was a huge surprise at Electronic Arts' press conference (as was *Peggle 2*, but PopCap acted like dummies and didn't show a trailer).
05Destiny
*__Destiny__* Bungie's first post-*Halo* title is a not-entirely-unlike-*Halo*-looking, open-world, role-playing, first-person, hyphen-key-exhausting shooter. It's also a game George McFly keeps mispronouncing.
06Thief
*__Thief__* The stealth game that started all (3D) stealth games is all new for the next generation. Square Enix announced the game in 2009, so it's nearing mythical-vapor status, but at least we have a bit more to go on now.
07The Division
*__The Division__* Last year, Ubisoft blew the doors off its press conference with the surprise reveal of *Watch Dogs*. This year, their "one more thing" move was open-world online action-RPG *The Division*, in which sleeper cells of retired law enforcement and military personnel are pressed into service after a pandemic plunges the country into complete chaos. Yes, it's a Tom Clancy thing.
08The Crew
*__The Crew__* Another nice surprise from Ubisoft: a street-racing/heist game that provides gritty counterbalance to the high-gloss sheen of AAA driving titles *Forza 5* and *Gran Turismo 6*. Single-player, co-op, and multiplayer purport to work together seamlessly.
09Mario Kart 8
*__Mario Kart 8__* Gravity's gone--Nintendo's racing franchise now lets you drive up walls and along upside-down tracks. And really, what more do you need?
10Titanfall
__*Titanfall*__ Respawn Games, the new shingle for the two departed heads of *Call of Duty* studio Infinity Ward, finally unveiled its game at Microsoft's press conference. It's a multiplayer shooter with a side order of mechs. Big guns, big robots, and potentially big business for Electronic Arts.
