Gallery: The Facebook Phone and 7 Other Outlandish 'Liked' Products
01bluephone-01
With rumors persisting about a Facebook phone, it looks like we might see the first fully-licensed physical product from the social media giant. But we wondered what Facebook-branded products are already out there, real or imagined. Trademark laws restrict knock-offs and unlicensed products partly so brands can maintain high-quality standards. Even though — or perhaps because — Facebook produces no physical products (yet), the company isn't immune to brand bandits. Although Facebook wouldn't comment on how it approaches unlicensed products, only one of these received a cease-and-desist letter from the company. Some of the products in this gallery are real, some are just mock-ups. Some were designed by companies looking to make a buck, and others by fans looking to make a splash. Some have potential, and some are ridiculous, but we'll let you decide which is which. __Above: Facebook Bluephone__ Ever since [rumors of a Facebook phone leaked](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/04/what-a-facebook-phone-will-look-like-features-and-os/), imaginations have run amok with ideas, skepticism, and desire. But designer Michal Bonikowski did more than just imagine — he [built a digital mockup](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/06/05/omg-i-love-the-blue-facebook-phone/) based on HTC's Touch, making it blue for brand recognition. "Blue color will work the same way as white iPod headphones a few years ago," says Bonikowski, adding that even from a long distance, it would be easy to recognize. *Photo via Michal Bonikowski*

__Facebook Bed__ If you've ever stayed up way too late, surfing Facebook when you know you should be sleeping, here's your solution. The social universe is just inches from you all night long, taunting you with all the things your friends are posting at 2 a.m. Did we call it a solution? Perhaps "enabler" would be better. Designer Tomislav Zvonarić was lying in bed (of course) when he came up with the idea. It was a joke at first, but after he [published it on Behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/FBed-design/2721891), a manufacturer reached out, wishing to build it. Zvonarić's effort to contact Facebook for permission was fruitless, so the bed remains a concept and our addiction remains just a bit harder to satisfy. *Photo via Tomislav Zvonarić*

__Facebook Flip-Flops__ The legal issues with unlicensed branded products mean you can often find overseas what's not available here. [Ricky Lai](http://www.flickr.com/photos/stitchohana/) found these Facebook flip-flops in Malaysia for 12 ringgits, or about $4, and liked them enough to buy two different colors. Status update: sand in my toes, salt on my glass, and sun on my face. *Photo via Ricky Lai*

__Like/Dislike Stamps__ "Like" has become one of the most recognized brand statements today. It's right up there with other internet vocab like "LOL" and "WTF?", but it's more than a statement; it's a sign of approval, a recognition that something is worth noticing. Add to that the "dislike," nearly as pervasive and descriptive, but unofficial, like the insider joke that everyone is in on. Jailbreak Collective teamed up with Nation Studio to release [Like/Dislike stamps](http://www.jailbreaktoys.com/Like_Dislike_Stamps_p/stlik00.htm) that make it easy to offer your opinion in a pass/fail duality. *Photo via Jailbreak Collective*

__Social Cycle__ Cruising around on a bike may seem like the antithesis of the Facebook lifestyle ([and recent ads make that distinction explicit](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHv2AwO_zZE&feature=player_embedded)), but that's exactly what drove Bear Bicycles to create their [Facebook bike](http://www.bear-bicycles.com/cycling-blog/how-social-is-your-cycle.html). "The idea of the Facebook bike was to highlight the social side of cycling," says founder Joni Uhlenbeck. "Being out on the streets (not locked up inside a car) you have a lot more contact with the other road users. You can easily stop and chat to someone when you meet each other in the street, etc." The bike is part of Bear Bicycles' "How social is your cycle?" campaign, which aims to show the social side of biking through their [Facebook page](http://www.facebook.com/bearbicycles). *Photo via Bear Bicycles*

__Like/Dislike Cufflinks__ Mark Zuckerberg may be famous for [wearing his hoodie everywhere](http://articles.cnn.com/2012-05-09/tech/tech_social-media_zuckerberg-hoodie-wall-street_1_facebook-ceo-mark-zuckerberg-hoodie?_s=PM:TECH), but even Silicon Valley icons need to dress up sometimes. A pair of Cufflinks.com's [Like/Dislike cufflinks](http://www.cufflinks.com/like-dislike-social-network-cufflinks.html) will keep your French cuffs under control without making you look like a corporate zombie. Cuffs and collars should be stiff, not attitudes. *Photo via Cufflinks.com*

__Facebook Superstars__ Gerry Mckay's [Facebook-branded Adidas Superstars](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Adidas-Facebook-Superstars/817509) aren't real, but that hasn't stopped fans from contacting with requests to purchase a pair. "I never thought for one second that there would be such a high level of interest in them," Mckay admits. He hasn't sold any, calling the design a fun experiment — from the imagination of one fan to the eyes of many more. The shoes include two Facebook slogans, printed on the interior: "Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you" and "Making the world open and connected." <photo gerry="" mckay="" via=""></photo>

__Zuckerberg Bobblehead__ Like the infamous [Steve Jobs bobblehead](http://www.cultofmac.com/71180/apple-asks-makers-of-horrifying-steve-jobs-bobblehead-to-quit-it/) that M.I.C. Gadget released in 2010, the [Mark Zuckerberg bobblehead](http://store.micgadget.com/action-figures/275-poking-inventor-action-figure.html) didn't last long. Available briefly in 2011, the statue was [pulled from M.I.C. Gadget's website](http://micgadget.com/11698/facebook-is-not-happy-with-the-poking-inventor-action-figure/) not because it was offensive in any way, but just because it was unlicensed. Originally $70, if you could find one now, our guess is the price would be pretty steep: M.I.C. Gadget claims only 300 were ever sold, representing their entire stock. But that's okay; if we're riding around on a Facebook bike while wearing Facebook kicks and speaking on a Facebook phone, we probably don't need Zuck's smiling head wobbling around on our desktop as well. *Photo via M.I.C.
