OnePlus 10T Camera Samples

OnePlus 10T, Nightscape on the main camera. This phone can take some surprisingly decent shots in low light with the main 50-megapixel camera. Zoom in and you'll notice all the details are a smidge blurry (likely due to some handshake), but the scene is exposed well and the colors pop.

There's a white border all around the leaves, almost like a halo effect, and it's likely due to oversharpening. The sky also looks a bit unnaturally blue, and so do some of the colors in the image. There's not really a reason a phone at this price should struggle this much in this kind of scene.

Photograph: Julian Chokkattu05OnePlus 10T, Portrait mode. Compare this image with the following one. The OnePlus does a good job with the outline around the subject, blurring the background pretty well, but it loses a bit of detail in my dog's fur (right around the chest). 
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu06Google Pixel 6 Pro, Portrait mode. The Pixel 6 Pro shot isn't perfect—it messes up the blur outline a little bit along the right side of my dog's fur—but it's insanely more detailed. You can pick up so much more of the pet hair.

The OnePlus 10T does not have an optical zoom camera, but there's the company still lets you tap on a 2x option for a digitally zoomed shot. This is the result. It's a similar mess of oversharpening, slightly messed up colors, and over-exposure. 
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu14Google Pixel 6 Pro, 2x digital zoom. The Pixel 6 Pro technically has a 4x optical zoom camera, but for the sake of comparison, I digitally zoomed to the same distance as the previous image. It's sharper, has better contrast, nicer colors, and overall a better image.

Photograph: Julian Chokkattu17OnePlus 10T, Portrait mode on the selfie camera. The 16-MP selfie camera is surprisingly decent, especially in low light. There's good detail here, the blur effect is nice (though notice the error in the edge of my glasses), and the colors are pretty great. 
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu18Google Pixel 6 Pro, Portrait Night Sight with the selfie camera. I give OnePlus the win here because this image is slightly fuzzy, though I like my skin tone a bit more here. The Pixel also erases the frame of my glasses on the left side.
