Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 Camera Samples
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu01Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Portrait mode. The Flip5 can take some sharp portrait photos. My dog's well exposed here, there's a lot of detail, and the colors are nice.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu02Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Night mode, 3X optical zoom. The 3X optical camera has improved over the Fold4. It can produce more detailed shots with Night mode as you see here. However, I took a 5X optical shot of the same scene with the Google Pixel Fold and it came out a little sharper.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu03Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, ultrawide camera. Compare this with the following image. The white balance is a little off, but the image is overall sharper and has a wider field of view than the Razr\+.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu04Motorola Razr\+, ultrawide camera. The Razr's ultrawide isn't as wide and details aren't as sharp, but it does a decent job with the color temperature and white balance.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu05Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Portrait mode, main camera. You can use the external screen to take a selfie with the high-quality rear cameras while seeing the preview. The Flip5's shot is tack sharp and the colors are really nice, particularly my skin tone.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu06Motorola Razr\+, Portrait mode, main camera. My skin tone is so much more washed out in this image.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu07Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, main camera. Here's another shot where we used the front screen to preview a selfie while using the primary camera. It's sharp, colorful, and it manages the background quite well.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu08Motorola Razr\+, main camera. The Razr\+ has trouble with the bright sky behind us and blows out the whole image.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu09Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Night mode, main camera. The Samsung phone snaps a well-exposed scene and the details are plenty sharp. Compare this photo with the following one.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu10Motorola Razr\+, Night mode, main camera. The Samsung photo is sharper overall with less noise. But the Razr\+ does a solid job here.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu11Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, main camera, Night mode. I love how sharp my pup looks in this photo, and the phone does a nice job balancing the exposure with the bright window in the background. The colors are pleasant.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu12Samsung Galaxy Z Filp5, Night Mode, main camera. This dark street is a little brighter than it was in real life, but the colors are nice and it's sharp.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu13Motorola Razr\+, Night Mode, main camera. The Razr\+ is more susceptible to camera shake in Night mode, which is why this image is blurry. You need to make sure you can be very still, but even then, I like the colors on the Samsung phone much more.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu14Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, 3X optical zoom. Samsung's zoom camera doesn't peer as far as Google's but you can still get some crisp shots of faraway subjects. But Samsung tends to oversaturate its photos.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu15Google Pixel Fold, 5X optical zoom. The leaves have slightly more of a natural color here, and the overall image is a hair sharper.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu16Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, main camera. Samsung's shot looks hyper-processed, and the blur around the schnitzel looks like motion blur. Was the chicken about to fly away?
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu17Google Pixel Fold, main camera. The whole image looks more true to real life, and it's sharp.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu18Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Night mode, main camera. I am not sure why this scene is *this* blue. It wasn't like that in real life.
Photograph: Julian Chokkattu19Google Pixel Fold, Night mode, main camera. Samsung's photo is sharper by a decent margin, but the colors are so much more natural and realistic on the Pixel Fold.
