"There was a distance with my grandparents when I was growing up and later. Simply because I had so many things to do and phase of our life was so different. This work brought me closer to them again," says Protick.

"Especially in her last days, grandma was more interested \[in being photographed\]," says Protick. "They had nothing else to do except watching television. Probably, my photography was the only excitement they were having at this point of life."
