Once finished, Snøhetta's massive overhaull of New York City's Times Square will include new pedestrian plazas, underground infrastructure, and 11 new benches.

Through a system of fiber-optic cables embedded in the benches, these supercharged planes of granite will plug into the city’s power grid. Plugs will let performers get electricity without dragging in cables and equipment.
