Gallery: This Compass Is Made for Geographically Challenged Cyclists
BeeLine01Display front on
This is BeeLine, a new handlebar-mounted bicycle navigation device.
BeeLine02Connecting to app
BeeLine pairs with Google Maps, but unlike most other navigation devices on the market, it does little more than a traditional compass. The display shows one arrow, pointing towards your destination. You figure out the rest.
BeeLine03Variations of colour
BeeLine is a slick, one-inch e-paper screen, overlaid atop three sensors (a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and a magnetometer), a Bluetooth chip, and a battery. A backlight illuminates the screen at night.
BeeLine04Attatching to box
A stretchy silicone band and a plastic bezel keeps the screen mounted in place.
BeeLine05Beeline attached to keys
When it's not on the handlebars, the bezel fits snugly around the BeeLine screen, and doubles as a keychain.
BeeLine06Bike, beeline & phone
The underlying idea to BeeLine? Less information, more freedom.
