We're over a week past National S'mores Day (Aug. 10), and the sun is quickly setting on prime camping season, but fear not! Enterprising designers have developed a bevy of clever gadgets that let you make the classic summer treat from the comfort of your urban abode. The dessert sandwich made of graham crackers, a toasted marshmallow, and chocolate was invented by a Girl Scout named [Loretta Scott Crew](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loretta_Scott_Crew) in 1927. She earned a merit badge for her invention, and inadvertently spawned an explosion of s'mores gadgets nearly a hundred years later. We're always excited to make lists of tech products: [apps for makers](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/design/2012/06/desktop-apps-for-makers/), [uses for 3-D printers](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/design/2012/04/10-things-3d-printers-can-do-now/). Still, we were surprised to find more than 10 products trying trying to improve on the previous state-of-the-art in s'more technology -- the twig. __Bella S'Mores Maker - $29.99__ Bella has invented a whole range of single-use baking products: a [s'mores](http://www.bellaappliances.com/sweet-internal.php?id=88) oven, a [cake pop](http://www.bellaappliances.com/sweet-internal.php?id=82) maker, and even a [circus-themed waffle iron](http://www.bellaappliances.com/sweet-internal.php?id=96). If their "George Foreman Grill" aesthetic doesn't suit you, there are nine other options on offer. __S'More to Love S'Mores Maker - $19.99__ If you like the idea of incarcerating your s'mores before condemning them to your lower intestine, this is the product for you. It gets points for being easily recyclable, but bizarrely suggests using a syringe (included) to squirt chocolate and other fillings into your s'more for "extra fun and yummy creations." __Rome Marshmallow Tree Fork - $18.99__ Want all the random prongs of a downed branch, but also feel a need to pay $18.99 and store it the 364 days a year you don't use it? If so, the Rome Marshmallow Tree Fork is a dandy choice. It apparently targets the huge market of campers afflicted with OCD that fear germs, but love open-fire cooking. __Marky Sparky Spinmallow - $14.99__ Even the creators of the Spinmallow admit this design might be a "bit much," but with a feature list like this it's hard to be understated: - Features a "Beautifully machine crafted faux wood grain" housing - replacing the organic, biodegradable, real wood stick. - Carabiner belt attachment for instant access - Handy for those impromptu s'more making sessions. - Flashlight to monitor the roasting progress - Y'know, if the giant fire in front of you isn't providing enough light. - Spins at a "Supremely Excellent" 186 RPM, up from version 1's paltry 92 RPM - Okay, that is pretty cool. __Hershey S'More Maker With Bonus Fondue Pot - $68.99__ This unoffensive ceramic solution will get the job done, but come on Hershey's, do you need to bundle a fondue pot with a s'more stove! Do we really need two melted desserts at once? Are the American obesity stats not bad enough? Thankfully, the product seems to have been discontinued, but is still available at collector prices. __Hershey's S'More Maker Complete Set - $24.99__ Luckily, someone at Hershey's cares about their brand - this campfire-themed alternative evokes the rustic origin of the s'more without adding a high-calorie, high-falutin' European chocolate dish. [*Photo Courtesy of Amazon*](http://www.amazon.com/SMORES-MAKER-COMPLETE-SET-INCLUDES/dp/B004SGTDR8/ref=sr_1_5?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1345457304&sr=1-5&keywords=hershey+smore)

__Sterno S'Mores-n-More - $12.63__ The ingredient list for s'mores used to be simple. Marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. Now, add Sterno to the list because nothing says family fun like a flammable eye irritant! [*Photo Courtesy of Amazon*](http://www.amazon.com/Sterno-40006-Smores-N-More-Marshmallow-Roaster/dp/B005Z4M72U/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1345457394&sr=1-1&keywords=smores+n+more)

__Nostalgia__ __Electrics Old Fashion S'Mores Maker - $49.99__ This product invents an alternate history where s'mores were sold next to cotton candy and saltwater taffy on Prohibition-era boardwalks. While historically inaccurate (the word "s'more", a contraction of "some more," didn't exist until 1973) we'll let it slide. At least this gadget actually toasts the marshmallow, unlike the next two designs... [*Photo Courtesy of Nostalgia Electrics*](http://nostalgiaelectrics.com/default.asp?c=7&p=418)

__Micro S'Mores - $19.99__ Sure, campfires are messy and grills are expensive, but microwaved s'mores? That is sweet sacrilege right up there with the DVD Yule log in the pantheon of depressing holiday simulacra. [*Photo Courtesy of Amazon*](http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Smores-80-1764-Classic-Holiday/dp/B003FAP4PS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345457829&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+smores)

__Progressive International Microwave S'More Maker - $8.99__ Steamed s'mores? It sounds like an item on a molecular gastronomist's menu, but the reality is far less glamorous. This contraption uses a microwave to heat water to melt the chocolate and marshmallow. Seriously, if your s'more recipe calls for water, just bake cookies instead.
