Hey everyone! (audience applauding)
Hi.
Hi everyone, hi.
[Announcer] Facebook's 2017 F8
was all about augmented reality and your phone's camera.
You'll get games and photo filters and your surroundings
will soon be stickered up with metadata,
but the only way to see all these stuff
will be through the Facebook app and your phone's lens.
Now, we're on Facebook,
we noticed that there's just people gathering around
looking at blank walls.
(audience laughing)
[Announcer] That is as long as they've got
Facebook AR running, that's where virtual art will be hung
and notes about the cool new coffee shop will pop up
and thanks to SLAM, you'll be able to play virtual games
on any surface like a boss.
Facebook Spaces is a place for you to be yourself in VR
with your real friends no matter where you are
in the physical world.
[Announcer] But Facebook isn't just biting Snapchat style.
Three years ago, it bought virtual reality company, Oculus,
and now, Facebook Spaces is the way the company
wants you to chill with your friends in social VR,
wear virtual party hats at a VR dance party,
take selfies with virtual selfie sticks
or just tour the ISS.
We now have over 1.2 billion people
using Messenger every month.
[Announcer] Even Facebook Messenger
is getting some new features.
Now, you'll be able to share songs and fire up games
without ever leaving the app.
It already works with Spotify
and will soon integrate with Apple Music.
And it won't just be beats either.
Facebook's new Messenger bots are gonna get cozy
with you and your crew.
They'll find you a cocktail bar, order food for your group,
even get you tickets to the new Star Wars flick.
The bots will score you a good seat
but they won't stand in line for you,
so charge up that battery.
