Dexter's first words at the crime scene were It was me.

You are decent and good.

I'm not.

The show is about Dexter, who's a serial killer,

but honestly, the show is more about the psychology

of what he's thinking and where he goes

and sharing those thoughts with the viewers

that, you know, I don't think any other TV show does.

[C.S. Lee] Season four's ending was quite dramatic,

and we actually didn't really know

what was gonna happen either,

and we hadn't seen the ending until it actually aired.

[David Zayas] We didn't know how it was gonna happen,

put it that way.

At least, I didn't.

(baby crying)

This year, we don't have one single guest star

arcing through the show.

We have several.

So Julia Stiles is one of our guest stars.

[David Zayas] Peter Weller.

[C.S. Lee] Peter Weller. Robocop.

And, who else?

[David Zayas and C.S.Lee] Lee] Johnny Miller.

[C.S. Lee] Yeah, Johnny Lee Miller.

So we have different guest stars.

Listen, this year I think the way last season ended,

there's a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up.

So it's going to be probably a continuation of last season.

It's not gonna just start a new case,

it's gonna be a whole new continuation.

Dexter's life becomes a lot more complicated,

as well as the lives of the people around him,

including our lives in the show,

and I think that's gonna be interesting,

and I think that's gonna be the,

what drives the show this year.
