How Slack Connects Different Teams At WIRED | The Future Of Work | WIRED Brand Lab

When we talk with Ulti, and we're talking about you know,

both cross teams here internally at WIRED,

but then also working with some external vendors.

How and why does WIRED work with external vendors?

We're pretty obsessed with working with some of the

best people and content creators in the business,

and working with outside vendors allows us to just

be more nimble in our processes and procedures

across WIRED as a whole.

How has your process been so far,

with working with the WIRED team?

It's been really great.

The most recent project that we've been working on,

they actually introduced me to Slack, and--

All right. It's really helped

make the process a lot more efficient.

I don't have to deal with a bunch of clunky email chains,

things like that.

I would also add that it's more important than ever

to have a streamlined conversation with

only the people you need to be in that conversation,

and getting answers as quickly as possible.

It allows me to work on the things

that I really need to focus on.

There's no getting bogged down in

kind of the day-to-day logistics.

As the external vendor, is he telling the truth?

Yes, he is. [group laughs]

How have you felt as a new Slack user?

How does Slack help make external vendors

feel like they're sort of part of the team?

I would equate it to being at the office,

so there's like that daily exchange,

and you're just constantly in the loop.

It's in a role to just

get a human feel for who that person is.

It's way less formal,

it keeps the ball rolling in so many levels.

I feel like it allows everyone,

from data and research, presale,

to execution, to external vendors,

to really just focus on bringing the best work to market.
