Ikea Unveils Its New PS 2026 Collection
Released on 05/13/2026
[Narrator] [upbeat music] After the buzz
around IKEA's cat-tested
inflatable easy chair,
the furniture giant has unveiled the rest
of its highly anticipated PS 2026 Collection.
This rocking wooden bench captures
the collection's playful theme.
Inspired by people swaying
and drinking at long tables during Oktoberfest,
the rocking bench is solid pine,
but with a curved base.
The clever design method of splitting wood beams
then gluing them back together
with the grain reversed,
makes it strong enough for adults as well.
And this was a solution found by designer Marta Krupinska
after a prototype was flattened during testing.
Now, it looks fun,
but trying to relax with post-party,
late-night drinks could be interesting.
Next, we have a four-seater folding table or desk,
designed by Ola Wihlborg,
that's been crafted to be sturdy enough for everyday use,
but collapsible to flat when needed,
via a few turns of the large signature red ring screws.
IKEA takes weight-bearing seriously
and using a butt-shaped wooden presser
to push 100 kilograms 10 times for 10 seconds,
this is how they test the table's sturdiness.
IKEA's new flexible floor uplighter
continues the home-office theme,
and this is the Swedish brand's first collaboration
with designer Lex Pott,
who has created a lamp that bends.
Pott inserted 45-degree swivel points
into the light's stand,
letting it transform from an uplighter
to a floor light,
and then a spotlight.
Other WIRED favorites include
an unapologetically analog stool
with ratchet-toothed construction,
inspired by simple woodworking tools,
as well as a steel and aluminum table clock
that looks like a submarine periscope
to keep you on time.
There's also a whimsical bedside table
inspired by traditional birdhouses,
and a chic, rolling, metal organization trolley
that's oddly reminiscent of a wedding cake on wheels.
Since first launching in 1995,
as part IKEA's attempts
to return to its Scandinavian roots
with affordable, design-led furniture,
the PS Collection has always been about playful ideas,
and the 2026 edition is trying to be
its most gamesome yet.

The collection is available in stores from May 14,
and then online from May 28 in the US.
