Melania Trump Arrives at White House Summit With Humanoid Guest

First Lady Melania Trump (right) was joined by an AI-powered humanoid robot as she arrived for a roundtable at the White House’s Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit on Wednesday, March 25th. As other first spouses, including Brigitte Macron of France, looked on, the first lady and the humanoid entered the East Room of the White House to music that sounded eerily familiar to John Williams’s “Hook” soundtrack from 1991. The robot identified itself as Figure 3 and said it was made in the United States. Figure 3 was made by Figure, an American robotics company based in California. In an email, a representative for Figure said the robot was fully autonomous and was not being teleoperated. The White House said the summit aimed to expand access to technology, including AI, and education to children worldwide.
