costs less for small families

And yet the meals are still full balanced meals,

and they use the exact same beef and pork and seafood

as HelloFresh as flagship plan that costs 40% more.

The conclusion I've arrived at

is that every plate saves money

by keeping the menu smaller,

just 36 meal options a week,

and especially by spicing and saucing simply.

Most meals might use just a single spice mix or herb,

like the sprigs of thyme used to make a simple pan sauce

on a meal of pork chop, brussels sprouts,

and mashed potatoes.

The results are not usually sophisticated,

they're simple meals,

but most are the kind of hot balance plate

that even my mother would recognize as a meal

and can be a lifesaver on a busy Tuesday.
