The Whirl Is Not Enough: Check Out These Wild Luxury Fidget Spinners
Released on 12/15/2017
This is a fidget spinner.
And this is a luxury fidget spinner.
By now you've probably seen the fidget spinner craze.
They're everywhere from mall kiosks to convenience stores,
but if you're looking for something a little more premium
and you have some cash to blow
there's a new kind of spinner made just for you.
Take the TI Spin Prop from Titan Ring Designs.
It's made out of grade-5 titanium
and it's designed after World War II airplane propeller,
but unlike an airplane propeller,
this thing is nearly dead-silent.
Its creators use a computer-numeric control machine
that runs at up to 30,000 rotations per minute
to carve the shape of each spinner.
Pretty fancy, right?
Well, it'll cost you $525.
All right, so this probably isn't
the fidget spinner you want
if you're just looking to keep your hands busy,
but it's damn pretty.
Think of these luxury fidget spinners
less like trendy toys
and more like pocketable pieces of art.

A lot of work goes into making
an ultra-luxury fidget spinner.
Take the Maelstrom Custom from Flyaway Toys, for example.
To make this spinner,
the company uses a combination of liquid nitrogen
and heavy duty saws to make every piece fit snuggly together
without any glue, screws, or undesirable parts.
In the end, you get a beautifully constructed spinner
that comes in an assortment of funky colors and designs.
No two look the same.
And that's why this one costs $200.
This one, the Damasteel Stubby Spinner, costs $430.
It's made out of Damascus steel,
and it doubles as a cigar stand.
Fancy.
This one, the sterling silver Black Lotus,
comes in bronze, stainless steel, and sterling silver.
Each blade has a little cut-out
that reveals a neat circle-like design.
It's nice and compact,
so you don't have to fumble your fingers around
just to get a good spin going.
If you want to get your hands on one of these guys though,
you'll have to fork over a whopping $335.
In a market saturated with cheapo fidget spinners like this,
most people aren't going to drop that much cash
just to keep their hands busy.
But if you're looking for a neat piece of pocketable art,
these are going to last way longer
than the fidget spinner craze.
Oh! And you can do this.
