Trump on ‘AI Jesus’ Picture: ‘I Thought It Was Me as a Doctor’

On Sunday, April 12, President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself wearing a white robe and red sash, placing a hand radiating golden light on a man in a hospital bed. The image, which Trump deleted from Truth Social after around 14 hours, sparked backlash, even among supporters, with many describing it as a blasphemous depiction of Jesus Christ. Trump later pushed back, telling reporters at the White House he thought the image showed him as a doctor who “made people better.” It comes as Trump condemned Pope Leo XIV’s stance on the war with Iran, and as some of MAGA’s biggest media figures are pivoting away from defending Trump as God’s chosen president to making the case that he’s actually the antichrist.

[Reporter] Mr. President, did you post

that picture of yourself depicted

as Jesus Christ?

Well, it wasn't depicted, it was me.

I did post it and I thought it was me

as the doctor and had to do with Red Cross

as a Red Cross worker there,

which we support, and only the fake news

could come up with that one.

So I had just heard about it and I said,

How did they come up with that?

It's supposed to be me as a doctor,

making people better,

and I do make people better.

I make people a lot better.
