US and Israel Launch Strikes Against Iran

[[Narrator] Explosions have been reported in Tehran

and other Iranian cities after the US

and Israel said they were launching strikes against Iran.

In a video message posted on his Truth Social

and X accounts, US President Donald Trump said

the US was undertaking a massive and ongoing operation.

He said Iran had attempted to rebuild its nuclear program,

repeated disputed claims Iran was developing

long range missiles that could reach the US,

and warned American lives could be lost in the operation.

In a direct appeal to Iranians,

Trump urged them to take over your government,

although it wasn't clear how they could do that

during airstrikes or whether the message could even be heard

during a near total internet blackout

imposed by the authorities in Iran.
