According to Thilo Koslowski, vice president of technology research at the Gartner Group, all car manufacturers will install telematics safety functions on their vehicles within four years. Koslowski made this prediction before an industry trade group last week. General Motors' OnStar, which has more than 4.5 million subscribers, pioneered the technology.
