We're Tracking Prime Day Live

Prime Day is still rolling, and so is our live blog. We'll bring you deals, trends, and commentary during the second day of Amazon's annual summer sale.

Like the doo-dah man, Prime Day keeps on trucking. Amazon's annual summer sale turns the entire internet into arrows of neon and flashing marquees. Publishers from Chicago, New York, and Detroit all travel the same streets, bringing you Prime Day sales on power banks, Yeti coolers, and Oura rings.

As for the WIRED Reviews team, we will play our hand before the cards ain't worth a damn. Here on the liveblog, we will spend the day livin' on reds, vitamin C, and whatever else we can scrape up to help us go a little deeper on products we love, spot some trends, point out some flash sales, dissect some odd products, or eulogize Rufus.

We'll be updating our overview of the absolute best Amazon Prime Day deals several times today, and we'd encourage you to check that out if you're shopping for something specific. Our coverage is a little different than what you find on the rest of the web—we only include products someone on our team has personally tested, and we limit ourselves to products actually discounted from the prices we've been tracking.

R.I.P. Rufus

Image may contain Snout Animal Canine Dog Mammal Pet and Puppy

I realize I'm maybe a little late to this, but I just realized that Amazon has unceremoniously dispatched Rufus, its old “A.I.” chatbot. There have been changes to reporting lines, and Alexa has expanded her role at the organization to include Rufus' former remit. We must assume that Amazon is deeply grateful for Rufus' leadership and contributions to the company.

This momentum surely reflects the progress Amazon's A.I. operation has made in operating as one unified team and will allow the company to stay agile in a rapidly changing environment. It may even open up new paths to profitability.

Also, I am just now realizing that Rufus was a corgi? I had no idea I was talking to a corgi to try and determine which Torx Bit Set to buy to work on my Volkswagen.

R.I.P. Rufus, you did your best, ol' buddy.

Wake Up In Style With This Hatch Restore 3 Deal

Photograph: Nena Farrell

The Hatch Restore 3 is one of our favorite smart alarm clocks, and it doesn't go on sale very often outside of events like Prime Day and Black Friday. It has a huge library of sounds and light options so you can wake up and fall asleep seamlessly, and the lighting routines can help you feel less groggy in the morning. There's an optional $3 per month subscription, but you don't need it for a good experience.

The Ultimate Running Watch Is Finally on Sale

Closeup of a wristwatch with digital screen showing "acute impact load miles"
Photograph: Michael Sawh

Garmin makes a Forerunner for just about everyone. Casual jogger? There's a Forerunner for that. Training for your first marathon? Also a Forerunner for that. The Garmin Forerunner 970, however, is for the triathlete who turns every conversation into a discussion about VO2 max.

This Garmin's top-tier running watch, and it comes loaded with features. You get a bright 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a built-in flashlight, Garmin's latest heart rate sensor, and if even a speaker and microphone for taking calls from your wrist.

The running metrics are the standout feature, though. This watch tracks everything from Acute Impact Load to Running Tolerance and Step Speed Loss. If you're training seriously, this data can be incredibly useful for understanding performance, recovery, and how hard you're actually pushing your body.

Do most people need all of this? Absolutely not. In fact, if you have to ask, you probably don't. But if you're a serious trainer, this is Garmin's most elite running watch, and it's on sale.

Olipop Actually Contains Fiber and Is Actually on Sale

Image may contain: Can, Tin, Beverage, and Soda

Olipop

Prebiotic Soda Pop (Variety Pack)

Some “healthier” sodas have giant marketing budgets and laughable dietary fiber content. But not Olipop, my personal Greatest of All Time. Each can has meaningful fiber amounts—around 6 grams—plus additional prebiotics, with low calories and sugar levels. The classic variety pack is on sale for Prime Day, or you could splurge and get 12 cans of the Shirley Temple flavor for $21. Dare I say it's worth getting both? (Some other kinds are on sale, too, but these are my favorites.)

Your Best Hair Day Just Needs This Drybar Set

Image may contain: Brush, Device, and Tool

Drybar

Blow-Dryer Shot Collection

I love Drybar’s blow-dry brushes, particularly the large round brush that’s nicknamed the Double Shot. But my beauty-expert colleague, WIRED reviewer Boutayna Chokrane, prefers the paddle-brush-style head from Drybar. The solution? This set from Drybar includes three attachments: my favored rounded Double Shot, the round version of the Smooth Shot paddle brush, and the smaller Half Shot that’s great for shorter hair or bangs (just keep the heat low!) Drybar’s blow-dry brushes consistently give me the best volume and are easy to use to shape my hair without it feeling fried or super frizzy. Blow-dry brushes do naturally introduce some frizz, but I’d rather have a little extra volume than not enough.

I Bought A Stanley In 2026 And I Regret Nothing

Image may contain: water bottle tumbler

Stanley

The Quencher H2.0 Flowstate 40-Ounce Tumbler

Stanley tumblers have fallen out of favor both due to trends changing and due to a lead bead being used in the insulation process (though Stanley says it poses no risk). I fell out of love with my previously-purchased Owala after I lost a key component of the lid and couldn't buy a replacement. So I recently purchased a Stanley tumbler (like, two weeks ago) and, call me basic, but I really like it. I like the straw. I like how big it is. I like the giant handle. Many colors are down to around $20 for Prime Day. Just don't buy a million of them and you should be free from any warranted judgment.

My Favorite Pod Coffee Maker is Below Its Previous Best Price

The Bruvi BV-01 is a stylish, feature-rich pod coffee maker, and I'd like it over the others I've tried for its multiple settings and large touchscreen display and wooden accents and built-in wastebin. But the best part is that the proprietary B-Pods are biodegradable and meant to be sent off to a landfill. That makes it a no-brainer for me to recommend over other options that require in-depth recycling or composting. Clip the on-page coupon at Amazon to bring it down to the best price I've seen (or, if you want to shop through Bruvi, use code WIRED to snag it for $198.)

Our Almost-Favorite Headphones Are Back to Their Lowest Price

Sony WH-1000MX5 headphones

The Sony WH-1000XM5 are nearly the best wireless headphones we've tested. They were supplanted by the newer version, the also-terribly-named WH-1000XM6, but are almost as good (and still much better than most non-Sony over-ears). With a stylish fit, excellent sound quality, industry-leading noise cancellation, and a match of their lowest price, this is one of several enticing headphone deals you can snag for Prime Day.

Urpower

Aroma Essential Oil (2nd Gen)

Sometimes the simplest gadgets are the best, and out of all of the essential oil diffusers I've tried, I still like this no-frills option the most. Add water to the tank, add a couple drops of fragrance oil, and let it mist your space with perfumed steam. There's a built-in color changing light, the controls are user-friendly, and the diffuser can scent a whole room. The whole shebang costs just over $15 right now.

This Reddit-Recommended Nail Oil Grew My Natural Nails Out And Here's Photo Proof

Image may contain: Body Part, Finger, Hand, and Person

Bliss Kiss

Nail and Cuticle Oil

I stopped biting my nails this year and have been slowly but surely growing them out. It's a lot of upkeep, and so I turned to Reddit for advice, where the lovely folks on r/longnaturalnails recommended jojoba oil. Specifically, this brand. I took a chance for $10 and have been using it every day. There are a few different scents as well as an unscented version—I got the Lavender Vanilla, which is nice and not too strong—and the applicator is easy to use, with no leaks or spills. Jojoba oil's molecular structure means it can sink into your nails with ease, preventing the sort of brittleness that makes them break. I've noticed my natural nails growing faster, longer, and stronger since I started using it every day. It's a couple bucks off for Prime Day in all eight versions.

This is the Cheapest Oregon Trail for Switch Has Ever Been

Image may contain: Book, Publication, Scoreboard, Advertisement, and Poster

Nintendo

The Oregon Trail for Switch

This one is for my fellow Xennials… For the Commodore 64 kids…. For the people who have strong opinions on their favorite Ninja Turtle….

Oregon Trail for Nintendo Switch has never been cheaper. I know because it's been sitting in my Amazon cart for like 3 years.

The only reason I'm not buying it at $28 is that I worry my 11-year-old daughter will compare it unfavorably to Roblox and that this will be crushing.

The Future of Smart Glasses is Aquatic

Photograph: Michael Sawh

Form

Smart Swim 2 LT Goggles

It's not all Prime Day around here this week. WIRED continues to publish some regular ol' reviews, including a product that caught my eye: Form's smart swim goggles.

While I personally (along with literally everyone I know in the real world), would not be caught dead wearing weird, creepy, and useless smart glasses on land, there is a practical application in the water, where you can't easily stop to glance down at your watch and see your pace. These glasses from Form sacrifice several important features found on higher-end glasses to get to $150 (you'll need to connect them to an external heart rate monitor to get your pulse), but they'll even coach you up on whether your head is bobbing too far out of the water.

Smart glasses: great for the pool! (So long as they don't have cameras in them, in which case they're back to weird and creepy.)

The Form glasses on sale for $134, $15 off for Prime Day, the lowest price they've ever been in our tracking.

These Earplugs Have Variable Levels of Sound Dampening

4 pairs of the Loop Switch 2 earplugs in black, gold, green and silver (small earbuds with cushions on one end and a circular ring on the other)
Courtesy of Loop

I really like Loop earplugs in general, but the Switch 2 are special because they have a built-in level adjuster. Swap between three different modes of sound dampening, all of which will filter out the most damaging frequencies of sound. If your roommate's chewing is driving you insane, choose the most muffled option. If you want to hear a concert in crystal clarity, choose the least. You get the picture. I also like the attractive, jewel-like color options, all of which are discounted for Prime Day.

It’s Hot—You Might Need a Weird Fan

I don’t know what ayahuasca retreat this year’s fan designers attended while thinking up some of the new releases I’ve seen so far this year, but whoever designed Dreame’s new bladeless MF10 was definitely there. Looking a bit like a gyroscope on an overturned trash can (or, more charitably, a set piece from Star Trek), this pedestal model pushes air through two thin, curved blades that oscillate vertically, while the stalk it sits on can oscillate side to side. It’s got a built-in sensor that can automatically adjust the fan speed, as well as a remote and optional app. A digital screen in the center tells you the current temperature. I wasn’t blown away (har har) by the airflow when I tested it, but it’s inarguably a unique look with some pretty useful features, and this is the most discounted I’ve seen it since its release.

This Budget Theragun Is Perfect For All Those Gains

Between the protein shortage and peptides, it feels like 2026 is the year of getting jacked by any means necessary. Which is fine and dandy until it's the morning and you sound like both of your grandparents combined when you're trying to get out of bed because your body is so sore and stiff. Work out those muscle knots with the help of our favorite budget Theragun, which is $60 off for Amazon Prime Day. There are no bells or whistles like Bluetooth or app connectivity, but it comes with three attachments and three speed settings. It's a solid basic option if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg. Er, a tricep and a quadricep.

Alani Nu, My Beloved, Is On Sale In All Its Forms

Alani Nu

Variety Pack (Cherry Twist, Pink Slush, Orange Kiss)

Image may contain: Can, Tin, Beverage, Coke, and Soda

Alani Nu

Pink Slush (24-Pack)

I can understand that Alani Nu energy drinks are not for everybody, but they absolutely are for me. The saccharine flavors taste of things like “Pink Slush” and “Orange Kiss” and somehow contain very few calories, zero sugar, and 200 milligrams of caffeine. Amazon's Prime Day deals rival the per-can price I pay at Costco, because yes, I buy Alani Nu in bulk. Lots of flavors are on sale, as are variety packs. I'm currently making my way through the first can of the day, which I realize is not a normal sentence, but then again—these are not normal times. Happy APD, part two.

It may interest the readers to know that, internally, among the most controversial pieces the WIRED Reviews team has published during my time here is the guide to the best energy drinks. It gets a lot of traffic, everyone has an opinion, and poor Pete the freelancer is always getting shade. Also, one time a former staff writer dramatically agreed to do the story to “make money for the company, since that's what's important” while cautioning that his doctor warned him that doing so could kill him.

Hey, Here's a Fitbit for Less Than $100

Fitbit Charge 6
Courtesy of Fitbit

The fitness watch must not only go to the most financially fit. This Charge 6 remains the Fitbit that WIRED recommends for most people, even after three years on the market—it does the stuff you want fitness watches to do. It monitors blood oxygen, heart rate, and skin temp. It tracks how well you sleep, and alerts you to signs of stress and irregular heart rhythms. And right now for Prime Day, it'll do this for $85, nearly half off the listed price.

This Is the Best Blender for Smoothies. It's Cheap Right Now

Nutribullet

Ultra Personal Blender

Ever since the dawn of the protein shake, and the daily smoothie, there's been a real need for a certain kind of blender. A blender that's easy to clean, takes up very little space, and works as an easy daily driver for a morning routine that probably has few seconds to spare. One that doesn't involve leaving a dirty blending jug in the sink for your spouse to find and then complain about.

Well, here you are: this is that blender. The 1200-watt Nutribullet Ultra is the best of its kind. And the blending jug becomes your to-go mug. It's about 30 percent off, less than $100. You quite simply won't do better than this blender, at this price nor size.

This Air Purifier Looks Like a Spaceship and Works to Clean Your Atmosphere

Photograph: Lisa Wood Shapiro

This big boi air purifier looks like a Jetsons-esque space station, and it is futuristic, with built-in AI to detect movement and air-flow auto-adjustment. It has both upward and forward air outlets to exchange air effectively in up to a whopping 7,534 square feet in an hour. It has four-layer filtration; seven high-precision sensors to monitor indoor air quality; and an LCD panel, remote, and connected app to control settings, including voice control. Through panel and app, you can view amounts of PM1, PM2.5, PM10, TVOC, and HCHO in the air—as well as filter life, and the temperature and humidity of the room.

But what’s maybe coolest about this purifier is that it’s a triple threat—on top of being an effective air purifier, it’s also a heater and fan. And with auto mode to intelligently adjust to the air around you, comfort mode for sleep, and pet mode for enhanced air purification against dander and allergens, this air purifier truly is a Jack-of-all-trades. At only $545 right now, it’s more than 25 percent off its regular price.

This Ninja Espresso Machine Has Never Been at a Lower Price

Image may contain: Cup, Beverage, Coffee, and Coffee Cup
Photograph: Matthew Korfhage

Ninja made a surprisingly competitive entry into the espresso world with its Luxe Cafe line. This semi-automatic machine competes with any other semi-automatic espresso machine in its price range when it comes to the quality and reliability of a basic espresso shot.

But where it excels is milk. It's got maybe the best automatic milk frothing system on any machine I've seen south of $1k. And the ability to do cold foam will be a big deal for those to whom cold foam is a big deal.

Anyway, this $600 deal is the lowest price I've seen the Cafe Pro. I expect the price will probably return for Black Friday, but maybe not again till then.

Just note the usual caveat, which is that the drip coffee from this machine is meh at best. If you buy this machine, buy it for lattes.
